Kenmore Washer F14 Error — Slow Drain Warning
The F14 error code is an early warning drain error — the washer is taking longer than expected to drain but has not yet hit the full F9 lockout. Think of it as F9’s warning stage. The washer may continue the cycle but will log the error for service awareness.
What to Do
F14 should be treated with the same urgency as F9. Clean the pump filter, check the drain hose, and run a spin-only cycle. If F14 is appearing regularly, the drain pump is likely degrading and will fail completely, causing a full F9, if not addressed.
Preventive Maintenance
Clean your Kenmore washer pump filter every 3 months. Leave the door ajar after every load to prevent mold buildup, which can also restrict drainage. Run a monthly cleaning cycle with a washer cleaner tablet.
