What H1 Means on a Kenmore Wine Cooler
The H1 error code (sometimes displayed as flashing temperature LEDs) indicates the wine cooler has detected an overheat condition — internal temperatures are dangerously high.
Common Causes
- Poor ventilation — unit pushed against a wall or in a cabinet without airflow space
- Failed condenser fan
- Dirty condenser coils
- High ambient room temperature
- Refrigerant leak
What You Can Do
- Ensure at least 2–3 inches of clearance on all sides of the unit.
- Clean the condenser coils (typically at the back or bottom) with a vacuum or brush.
- Move the cooler to a cooler location if room temperature exceeds 77°F (25°C).
- If ventilation is adequate and error persists, call a technician to check the condenser fan and refrigerant charge.
